BitcoinDeepa is Sri Lanka’s grassroots movement for financial freedom. Inspired by the success of Bitcoin Beach in El Salvador, we aim to bring the same energy of innovation, community empowerment, and Bitcoin adoption to our island nation.

We believe Bitcoin is not just a Crypto currency it’s a lifeline for communities battling inflation, economic instability, and limited access to banking. From bustling towns to coastal villages, we’re helping locals understand how Bitcoin and the Lightning Network can offer fast, low-cost payments, secure remittances, and protection for their savings.

Our team, led by @PearlofSatoshi and @CeylonCash, is deeply committed to raising awareness and expanding Bitcoin education across Sri Lanka. We organize meetups across Sri Lanka, onboard local merchants, and translate critical Bitcoin content including The Bitcoin Standard into Sinhala 🇱🇰, so that every Sri Lankan, regardless of background, can access the knowledge they deserve from Sinhala.

In 2023, we proudly represented Sri Lanka at Bitcoin 2023, meeting thought leaders like Saifedean Ammous, and showcasing our nation’s growing Bitcoin community to the world.
